Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the KidsBedStories mobile application and its related services operated by DxG Studio (“KidsBedStories,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). It does not automatically apply to other DxG Studio apps, which may have their own notices.

2. Information We Process

Guest use

A user may enter Guest Mode without providing a name, email address, or password. The app stores guest trial counters and locally created content on the device so the available guest allowance remains accurate after the app is reopened.

Account information

When a parent or other user creates an account, we process the name and email address they provide, a Firebase user identifier, account creation information, and authentication records. Passwords are submitted to and handled by Google Firebase Authentication; DxG Studio does not receive the password in readable form.

Device and anti-abuse information

For account protection and to prevent repeated account or trial abuse, we process the device identifier made available by the operating system (such as Apple’s Identifier for Vendor), device model and brand, operating system and version, device type, account identifier or email, and last-active time.

Stories, coloring pages, and prompts

We process the topics, character names, age range, mood, educational preferences, story text, image prompts, generated illustrations, reading progress, coloring-page requests, and AI idea requests needed to provide the features selected by the user.

Stories and coloring projects are saved on the device. For registered users, story records and usage totals may also be synchronized with Firebase so they can be restored and so monthly limits can be enforced. Artwork is exported to the photo library or another app only when the user chooses Save or Share and grants the relevant device permission.

Subscriptions

Apple processes payment details for App Store purchases. We and RevenueCat receive subscription and entitlement information such as product, purchase status, renewal or expiration status, and an app user identifier. We do not receive full payment-card details.

Usage, diagnostics, and support

We may process app-screen activity, app lifecycle events, feature usage, app version, device and operating-system information, error details, performance data, and communications voluntarily sent to support. This information helps us operate, secure, and improve the app. We do not use it for cross-app advertising tracking.

3. Optional Child-Photo Personalization

A registered parent may optionally create one or more child profiles by entering a profile name and selecting a photo from the device. This feature is located in Parent Mode and is not required to use the core story or coloring features.

• The selected photo is copied into the app’s private local document storage.
• The app asks for photo-library permission and displays a parental consent explanation before use.
• The parent separately chooses which child profile or profiles, if any, will appear as heroes in each new story.
• Only after this choice, the selected photo is transmitted to our AI image-generation provider, Leonardo AI, to guide the illustrated character’s appearance.
• The child photo is not placed in a public gallery and is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.

A parent can turn off photo personalization, remove an individual profile, or sign out. The app then removes the local photo where applicable and sends a deletion request for the corresponding remote image reference. Service providers may retain limited backup, security, or legally required records according to their own terms.

4. How We Use Information

We use information described in this policy to:

• create and display stories, illustrations, ideas, and coloring pages;
• save content, reading progress, preferences, and usage allowances;
• provide accounts, authentication, subscriptions, and purchase restoration;
• apply Parent Mode settings and parent-selected personalization;
• protect accounts and prevent fraud, spam, and misuse of free or paid features;
• diagnose crashes, maintain performance, and improve the app;
• respond to support, privacy, and legal requests; and
• comply with law and protect users, DxG Studio, and our services.

Depending on the location and context, we rely on the user’s or parent’s consent, performance of the requested service, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the app, and compliance with legal obligations.

5. When Information Is Shared

We do not sell personal information. We share only the information needed with service providers that operate features on our behalf, subject to their terms and privacy practices.

We may also disclose information if required by law, court order, or valid legal process; to investigate fraud or security incidents; to protect the safety and rights of users or others; or as part of a business transaction where permitted by law.

6. Children’s Privacy

KidsBedStories is a family-oriented app. Children may enjoy stories and coloring activities under parent or guardian supervision, while registration, purchases, Parent Mode, external links, and child-photo choices are intended for adults.

We do not knowingly ask a child to provide an email address, account credentials, or a personal photo. Optional child-profile information must be supplied and controlled by a parent or legal guardian. We do not use child information for behavioral advertising, and the app does not contain third-party advertising.

If you believe a child’s personal information was provided without appropriate parental authorization, contact us at contact@dxgstudio.com. We will review the request and take appropriate deletion steps.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

• Guest and local app data: retained on the device until removed through the app, cleared by the user, or deleted when the app is uninstalled, subject to device backup behavior.
• Account and synchronized story data: retained while needed to provide the account and services, enforce usage limits, resolve disputes, protect the service, and meet legal obligations.
• Child photos: retained locally while the profile remains saved. A remote image reference is retained only as needed for selected personalization and is submitted for deletion when the parent removes it or signs out.
• Subscription records: retained as needed to verify entitlements, restore purchases, maintain financial records, and comply with law.
• Security and diagnostic records: retained for a reasonable period appropriate to fraud prevention, troubleshooting, security, and legal requirements.

Signing out clears private local app caches and requests removal of saved child-photo references, but it does not by itself delete the registered Firebase account or every record required for account, security, subscription, or legal purposes. To request account and cloud-data deletion, use the contact information below.

8. Your Choices and Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• request access to or a copy of personal information;
• correct inaccurate account information;
• request deletion of an account and associated cloud data;
• withdraw consent for optional child-photo personalization;
• object to or restrict certain processing;
• request data portability where applicable; and
• complain to an appropriate data-protection authority.

Parents can remove child profiles in Parent Mode, delete stories and coloring pages through the app, revoke photo permissions in device settings, and manage or cancel subscriptions through Apple’s App Store settings. We may need to verify the requester’s identity before completing a privacy request.

9. Security and International Processing

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information, including authenticated services, private app storage, access controls, and deletion controls. No system or method of transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

DxG Studio and its service providers may process information in countries other than the user’s country. Where required, we use appropriate legal mechanisms and safeguards for international data transfers.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app, our providers, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective date. If a change materially affects an optional consent, we will request consent again where required.
